SPBA Summer Course: Itinerary

The Ultimate Ballet Experience

The following is the description of what you will experience, during a typical week,  -- and hopefully, for many weeks after,  -- of the ST. PETERSBURG BALLET ACADEMY Summer Course in St. Petersburg, Russia:

On Sunday, upon your arrival in St. Petersburg, you are met and transferred to the Hotel Sovetskaya. After a leisurely afternoon, a Welcome Dinner is awaiting you. You maybe inspired to attend a performance of the Mariisnky Ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre or a performance of another ballet company.

Monday—Saturday

A lavish, buffet style breakfast is offered to you daily, in one of the Hotel’s attractive restaurants.

You are taken to your ballet activity: ♪ Ballet Technique class ♪ Pointe, Variation or Adagio class, alternating daily ♪ a brief rest ♪ Classic Ballet Repertoire ♪  participate in a Workshop Performance, presented weekly. ♪ For Ballet Teachers, a Special Ballet Seminar is offered, in a presentation and discussion format, two to three times a week ♪ You are taken to your Hotel.

Refresh yourself. Dinner is awaiting you. Discover daily the charms of this glorious city:

Attend ballet performances at the Mariinsky Theatre, the Hermitage, Yusupov Palace's miniature Rococo Theatre, or other historic venues.

Take a city tour, admiring the baroque, rococo and classical styles of the magnificent palaces and broad boulevards.

Take a leisurely boat ride, on some of St. Petersburg's 65 canals.

Visit Theatre Street, now Rossi Street. Rossi Street 2 is the address of the formerly Imperial Ballet School. It has continued to supply ballet stages, with the most illustrious classic dancers, for the past 267 years.

Visit the famous museums, a must is the Hermitage, in the grand Winter Palace.

Visit sights, significant to ballet, among them the sight, where Petipa and Tchaikovsky are buried.

Sunday Each Sunday an excursion is awaiting you:

Peterhof, the luxurious royal estate of Peter the Great, lying on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, a combination of several palaces and parks, and a cascade of fountains. Dinner will be served at Peterhof.

Pushkin, the splendid Catherine Palace and Park of the Tsars, and the exquisite Pavlovsk Palace. You will have dinner in a country restaurant.

On the last Saturday of your stay, a Farewell Dinner is awaiting you.

The Sunday of your departure, you are taken to the Airport, and depart from glorious St. Petersburg, by return flight to your destination city.  Arriving  with ST. PETERSBURG BALLET ACADEMY Summer Course in St. Petersburg, Russia, fully alive in your heart.
